Former Bulldog exiting NFL

David Pollack has long worn his spiritual faith on his sleeve, as shown here as he prayed with former UGA QB David Greene (left) after their final home game as Bulldogs in 2004.

UGA fans always appreciated Pollack for his exuberance, as exhibited following the Bulldogs' win in the Outback Bowl in 2005.

Pollack was the Cincinnati Bengals' first round draft pick in the 2005 NFL draft.

Pollack showed his star potential early in his NFL career.

Early in his second NFL season, Pollack suffered what then appeared to be a season-ending neck injury. He was expected to fully recover, but never played another down of pro football.

Pollack underwent multiple surgeries to repair the cracked bone in his neck.

Pollack's wife Lindsey was always with him for care and support as he struggled in vain to revive his NFL career.
