The Hawks franchise dates back to 1946 when it played in Buffalo as the Bison. The team moved from St. Louis to Atlanta in 1968, where it has produced a handful of Hall of Famers.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution continues its series determining the top four contributors — players, coaches, management or owners — for some of our professional franchises and colleges. A fan vote will be a part of the process as we get a list of 10 candidates to a final four. We started with the Atlanta Braves last week.
