It was a visa problem that prevented Dennis Schroder from returning to the United States from an All-Star break trip to Germany. The Hawks starting point guard missed Wednesday’s practice, the team’s first workout.

Coach Mike Budenholzer said of Schroder’s absence Wednesday only that there were “travel issues” and that he was hopeful he would make it back by Thursday.

Schroder posted a picture on social media Thursday morning with him holding his new credentials. “FINALLY GOT MY VISA & CAN GET BACK TO WORK !!!,” Schroder wrote.

The Hawks return from the All-Star break to host the Heat on Monday, the start of the final 26 games of the regular season.

Ersan Ilyasova (pronounced ER-san eel-ya-SO-va) from Turkey is the third international player on the Hawks roster.
