Early in the fourth quarter of the Hawks' win over the Trail Blazer, reserve guard Dennis Schroder took a shot to the mouth from a Meyers Leonard knee and had the veneer of a tooth knocked out.

Schroder casually picked up piece and put it in his sock for (apparent) safe keeping.

He never left the game.

“I just wanted to play," Schroder said. "I wanted to be on the court. I was like ‘Oh (shoot).’ I put it in (my sock) and kept playing.”

The reserve point guard scored 18 points on 7-for-10 shooting, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range.

Schroder said he would be visiting his dentist “ASAP.” Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said he liked the toughness.
