Trae Young was named the NBA Eastern Conference’s Rookie of the Month for January, the league announced Friday. The Hawks point guard also won the award in November.

Young led all rookies in the conference with 18.7 points and 7.2 assists in January. He became the first rookie to average at least 18.0 points and 7.0 assists in 10 or more games in a month since John Wall in March of 2011. Young also led all rookies in the conference in steals and double-doubles in the month.

The No. 5 overall draft pick out of Oklahoma became the first Hawk to win multiple Rookie of the Month awards since Al Horford, a winner in November, February and March of the 2007-08 season.

Other nominees for the award in the conference were the Nets’ Rodions Kurucs and the 76ers’ Landry Shamet.

The Mavericks’ Luka Doncic, the No. 3 pick who was traded for Young, was named the Rookie of the Month in the Western Conference. He averaged 22.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 6.4 assists.
