The Hawks will be without Paul Millsap, Jarrett Jack and Tiago Splitter for tonight’s exhibition home opener against the Cavaliers. Mike Scott will see limited action.

Coach Mike Budenholzer confirmed Monday that Millsap (right knee rehabilitation), Jack (right knee rehabilitation) and Splitter (right hamstring strain) will miss their third straight game. Scott (left knee soreness) also missed games against the Grizzlies and Spurs.

Millsap continues to return from a non-surgical procedure before the start of training camp. Budenholzer said Millsap participated in 3-on-3 work Monday morning, the next step his return. He said Millsap is progressing well.

Concerning Splitter, Budenholzer said there was not cause for concern after the reserve center was limited to 36 games last season before major hip surgery.

“I wouldn’t say concern,” Budenholzer said. “There are going to be different phases … strengthening and condition the lower body. We feel the hip is in a good place but it’s all connected at the end of the day. We’ll hope that all this goes well.”

The Hawks will start their expected unit – minus Millsap – with Dennis Schroder, Kyle Korver, Kent Bazemore, Mike Muscala and Dwight Howard.

The Cavs, on the other hand, will not play any of their starters. The starting unit will be Kay Felder, Dahntay Jones, Jordan McRae, James Jones and Cory Jefferson.
