The Hawks are division champions.

Despite a loss to the Thunder, the Hawks clinched the Southeast Division title when the Wizards lost at the Clippers Friday night.

It is the first division title for the Hawks since the 1993-94 season.

The Hawks (53-16) became the first team in the Eastern Conference to clinch a playoff berth when they locked up their eighth straight postseason berth March 3. Now, they are the first team in the conference to win a division as the Wizards (40-29) cannot catch them.

The Hawks’ magic number to clinch the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference remains three games over the Cavaliers. The Hawks have 13 games remaining in the regular season
