Probable starting pitchers: Braves LH Manny Banuelos (0-0, 0.00) vs. RH Matt Garza (4-10, 5.55)

What's new: The Braves' recent offensive struggles since Freddie Freeman went to the disabled list with a wrist injury have been well-documented. Since Freeman's last game on June 17, the Braves had gone 8-8 entering this series in Milwaukee, while batting just .233 and averaging 2.4 runs per game. Another problem during that time has been a lack of production from the leadoff spot. Jace Peterson was batting just .167 (10-for-60) over those same 16 games, with a .271 on-base percentage. Looking for some bright spots for this series? Nick Markakis went 6-for-14 (.429) with two doubles, two RBIs and three walks in the Braves four-game series against the Brewers at Turner Field in May. Jonny Gomes is 5-for-11 (.455) with two doubles and a home run in his career against Garza. Chris Johnson is 7-for-12 (.583) with two home runs against Garza.
