How the winning run scored: Corban Joseph's one-out single in the fifth inning scored former Georgia Tech player Luke Murton and gave Scranton/Wilkes-Barre a 3-1 lead over host Gwinnett on Friday night.

At the plate: Atlanta Braves catcher Brian McCann was the DH and was 2-for-4, with a solo homer with two outs in the fourth inning as he continued his injury-rehab assignment. Joey Terdoslavich of Gwinnett was 3-for-4, and he hit a solo homer in the seventh. Murton was 2-for-3, both singles.

On the mound: G-Braves starter Yohan Flande (1-2) was roughed up for five runs on eight hits in five innings. He struck out four.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (12-17) and Rail Riders (15-11) will meet again at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. The scheduled starters are right-handers Tim Corcoran (1-2, 3.12 ERA) of Gwinnett and Dellin Betances (1-2, 7.58) of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
