Before becoming a major league manager for the Braves and later the Yankees, Joe Torre was a perennial All-Star catcher with the Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves. In three seasons in Atlanta, he played in 320 games at backstop. In his best year in Atlanta he batted .315 with 36 homers and 101 RBI.
