Glavine: Family Matters

Tom Glavine says it wasn't the $8 million contract that brought him back to the Braves after a five-year stint in New York. He could have made more in other places, but he wanted to be closer to his family.

Tom Glavine had eight million reasons to return to Atlanta. But, according to the lefty with 303 wins, all he needed was five.

Being able to hang out with these two old buddies is an added bonus for Glavine (left). Braves manager Bobby Cox (front), pitcher John Smoltz (right) are glad heâ⿬⿢s back as well.

While his Braves buddies are nice, wife Chris and family are the biggest reasons Tom is back in Atlanta.

It's not like the Glavines never got together during Tom's five-year stay in New York. Here, he gets a hug from his son after winning his 300th career game on Aug. 5.

Glavine says he missed too many moments like this one to stay any longer in New York. How often do you get to teach your son Mason (center) that he must keep both hands on his stick if he wants to score?
