Braves starter Kevin Gausman will pitch in a minor league game Tuesday and remains on track to pitch in the first week of the regular season.

Gausman has been plagued by shoulder soreness in the past few weeks. He’s pitched in just two games in spring training, exited his last start having pitched less than an inning.

Still, the Braves maintain Gausman will be good to go for his first turn in the rotation. He’s set to throw five inning Tuesday.

“That way we can control up-downs, get him stretched out good,” manager Brian Snitker said. “But he’s fine. ... We want to make sure we get him innings.”

Acquired from Baltimore last July, Gausman posted a 2.87 ERA in 10 starts.
