Chipper Jones tore the ACL in his left knee on a play against the Astros. See the play.

Chipper Jones walks off the field in Houston with the help of trainer Jeff Porter. Jones hurt his left knee on the play. His agent says it's an anterior cruciate ligament.

Here's the play: Chipper fields a ball hit by the Astros' Hunter Pence . . .

. . . the veteran Brave then goes airborne to make the throw, getting Pence out at first. . . .

. . . he lands after the throw, when he buckled and went down.

The day after the injury, Jones said he was 'cautiously optimistic' about his prognosis.
