The Braves released their 2020 schedule Monday, which includes a rare opening-week stretch against the National League West. They open with a seven-game road trip against the Diamondbacks and Padres. The Braves will play four games in Arizona, including Opening Day on March 26, before traveling to San Diego.
The team's home opener will be April 3 against the Marlins, which begins the Braves' fourth season at SunTrust Park (now Truist Park). It starts a seven-game homestand that also includes San Diego, meaning the Braves and Padres will be finished playing each other in early April.
The Braves end the season with a seven-game homestand against the Nationals and Astros Sept. 21-27. It ends a stretch of 13 of the last 19 games at home.
All home night games will begin at 7:20 p.m. and Sunday games will begin at 1:20 p.m. The Braves had revised their start times prior to this season.
The Braves will be home for four holidays — on Mother’s Day (May 10) against the Marlins, Memorial Day (May 25) against the Cardinals, Independence Day (July 4) against Mike Trout and the Angels, then Labor Day (Sept. 7) vs. the Mets.
The Braves continue their designed interleague rivalry with the Red Sox, playing a pair of home-and-home two-game series. The Red Sox will come to Atlanta May 12-13 and the Braves will be in Boston June 16-17.
The rest of the interleague schedule features the AL West with the Rangers, A’s, Angels, Astros and Mariners.
July 3-5 will mark Trout’s first time playing at SunTrust Park (second time in Atlanta), and the first time he and Ronald Acuna will compete against each other.
The Braves will travel to Seattle, Oakland and Arlington to complete their interleague away slate. It will be the team’s first trips to Seattle and Texas since 2014.
As for the NL’s elite, the Dodgers visit Atlanta on June 12-14. The Braves will host the Cubs on July 10-12. The Braves go to Los Angeles on June 1-3 and Chicago on Aug. 3-6.
