As Brandon Beachy nears his return from elbow ligament surgery, the Braves face difficult decision on their starting five.

Mike Minor is 8-2 with a 2.44 ERA in 13 starts this season. The left-hander averages 0.94 walks and hits per inning pitched (WHIP) and leads the Braves with 78 strikeouts.

Braves right-hander Tim Hudson has allowed just one earned run in 14-1/3 innings over his past two starts. He holds a 4.48 ERA and is 4-5 with 54 strikeouts and 18 walks in 13 starts.

Braves left-hander Paul Maholm is 7-4 with a 3.46 ERA in 13 starts. He ha 58 strikeouts and 23 walks over 80-2/3 innings pitched.

Braves right-hander Kris Medlen hasn't allowed an earned run in 13-2/3 innings, cutting his ERA down to 2.87. He is 3-6 with 60 strikeouts in 13 starts.
