Atlanta United announced the signing of goalkeeper Quentin Westberg on Friday.

Westberg, 36 years old, is expected back up Brad Guzan.

Westberg spent the past four seasons with Toronto, where he made 68 starts and allowed 113 goals.

“Quentin is a proven goalkeeper in MLS and Europe, and we are excited to welcome him to Atlanta,” Atlanta United Vice President Carlos Bocanegra said in a statement provided by the club. “We wanted to strengthen our depth at the goalkeeper position this offseason, and Quentin will be a great addition to our group.”

Though born in Paris, Westberg is a dual-national. He chose to represent the U.S. internationally.

Before joining Toronto, Westberg played for Auxerre in France’s second division, where he made 20 appearances.

Westberg will join Guzan and Justin Garces, a Homegrown signee, as the team’s goalkeepers. Guzan, 38, suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon last season. He is expected to return for the pending season.
