Atlanta United added goalkeeper Clement Diop, announcing the acquisition of the free agent on a one-year deal Wednesday.
Diop, 29, has made 50 appearances since 2016. His past teams include the L.A. Galaxy, Montreal, New England, Miami, and most recently, the Revolution again. He’s allowed 87 goals in his 50 appearances, all starts.
Diop, Brad Guzan and Quentin Westberg will compete for the starting spot.
Diop was born in France and played at Amiens before joining L.A. Galaxy II in 2015. He will not occupy an international roster slot because he has a green card.
Diop is the team’s fourth acquisition, joining Westberg, Derrick Etienne and the re-signing of Amar Sejdic.
