Atlanta United re-signed midfielder Amar Sejdic to a one-year contract, announcing the move on Monday.
Sejdic made 23 appearances, including 18 starts, last season and formed a good partnership with Santiago Sosa in the midfield.
The team also holds two, one-year options on Sejdic’s contract.
Sejdic had two assists last year. He joined the club in a trade with Montreal during the 2021 season. He has 55 appearances with two goals and two assists in his career.
Sejdic is the third addition to the club, along with backup goalkeeper Quentin Westberg and winger Derrick Etienne.
Sejdic had a guaranteed salary of $85,444 as of September last season, according to the MLSPA database, so he likely will be one of the team’s less-expensive signings.
Atlanta United has purged more than $2 million in salaries in the past weeks with the sale of centerbacks Alan Franco and George Campbell, the loan of Marcelino Moreno, and the termination of Emerson Hyndman’s contract.
