Atlanta United President Garth Lagerwey will answer a question posed by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution each week about the team, MLS or soccer in general.
This week’s question:
Q: How might the signing of Lionel Messi affect MLS roster rules and regulations in coming years, if at all?
A: That remains to be seen. While Messi’s arrival will impact many things in MLS, it’s hard to guess exactly what that might entail before he joins the league. Regardless, the league will ultimately make those decisions, so we need to work through those internal processes and take a wait-and-see approach to see what evolves.
