Atlanta United season-ticket holders will receive an email on Wednesday about a pre-sale for the U.S. Open Cup final.
The game will be played on Aug. 27 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta United will host either Portland or Minnesota.
Atlanta United advanced by defeating Orlando 2-0 on goals from Eric Remedi and Emerson Hyndman on Tuesday at Exploria Stadium. Minnesota will host Portland in the other semifinal on Wednesday.
“You want to win every title, but also we play in our own stadium, so probably 74,000 people behind us,” Atlanta United manager Frank de Boer said. “It’s going to be a great happening, and we were fighting very hard for it. I think the club and the fans will be very proud that we reached the final. We fought like lions, but still we are hungry for one game more because second place doesn’t count. So we have one game to go, but we are close to a title. That’s a first step, but we have to make another step.”
Atlanta United has yet to determine if Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be in its soccer configuration or fully open for the championship.
Atlanta United won the MLS Cup last year and is in the running to do so again this season. It is in second in the East, three points behind Philadelphia with a game in hand.
Atlanta United will host the Campeones Cup on Aug. 14, which will be its next chance to win a trophy before it hosts the U.S. Open Cup.
“The ambition of this club is huge,” midfielder Emerson Hyndman said. “We go into every game thinking we can win. The more games we win the better chance we have of doing what we want to do. To be in a final at this stage of the season is really exciting. We are going to push that boundary every further.”
