Atlanta United’s starting 11 for Sunday’s game against Sporting KC at Children’s Mercy Park:
Goalkeeper Brad Guzan, who has allowed eight games in seven games with 14 saves.
Right fullback Franco Escobar, who is making his second consecutive start.
Centerback Miles Robinson, who is making his eighth consecutive start.
Centerback Leandro Gonzalez Pirez, who is making his eighth consecutive start.
Left fullback Michael Parkhurst. Well, this is surprising. Parkhurst, normally a centerback, will start at his third different position this season. It is the first time in 288 appearances in MLS that Parkhurst will start at left fullback, according to transfermarkt.com. Brek Shea likely rotated out with the glut of games upcoming.
Defensive midfielder Eric Remedi is back after coming off the bench in last week’s game.
Defensive midfielder Darlington Nagbe, who is making his seventh start.
Wide midfielder Julian Gressel, who has one goal and two assists.
Attacking midfielder Pity Martinez, who has yet to score or have an assist.
Wide midfielder Ezequiel Barco, who leads the team with three goals. He will leave the team on Monday to join the Argentina U-20 National team for the World Cup in Poland.
Striker Josef Martinez, who has two goals.
