Atlanta United’s Josef Martinez was named the MLS Player of the Month on Tuesday.

Martinez scored seven goals in five matches  in the month. He has scored in nine consecutive league games and tied Red Bulls’ Bradley Wright-Phillips for the most goals (68) in a three season span in MLS.

It’s the fifth time Martinez has been named the league’s player of the month, but first this season.

Martinez has 18 goals this season.

Additionally, Atlanta United’s Bienvenue Kanakimana was named the USL Championship Player of the Week after scoring a hat trick in last week’s 4-2 win against Loudon.
