Darlington Nagbe should return to Atlanta United in time for the playoffs, and Greg Garza may return in time for the postseason, manager Gerardo Martino said on Wednesday.

The two players recently resumed running after suffering injuries weeks ago. Nagbe, a midfielder, suffered an adductor injury on June 24 and was expected to miss 2-3 months. Garza, a fullback, suffered a shoulder injury on May 20 that required surgery that was expected to force him to miss 4-6 months.

Martino didn’t want to give a date on when the two starters will re-join team-related activities, but he said he thinks Nagbe will be practicing with the team within a few weeks.

“It’s important for them to get minutes and into the rhythm of playing games before the playoffs,” he said.

Martino said that midfielder Brandon Vazquez (foot) will miss Friday’s game against Orlando, but should resume training next week. Midfielder Chris Goslin (ankle) is expected to be out for at least a week.
