Atlanta United’s George Bello posted an encouraging message to the followers of his Twitter account on Monday following an injury suffered Saturday.

Bello, an 18-year-old native of Douglasville, sustained an injury to the back of his head during Saturday’s friendly against Birmingham. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was evaluated and released that night.

Bello has had his share of bad luck the past two seasons.

He was thought to be the starting left back for the team in 2019, but he suffered an injury to his right adductor that required surgery. He made just one appearance with the team and it came in the season-opening game at Herediano in Costa Rica.

Atlanta United will play a friendly on Tuesday against Leones Negros in Guadalajara, Mexico. It will open the season on Feb. 18 at Motagua in Honduras.
