The Atlanta Hawks won their division with a 41-31 record in the 2020-21 season wearing four distinct uniform combinations.

The team hung up the “volt green” color and triangle pattern background first unveiled in 2015, and went with a much simpler, bold look this season. Atlanta introduced an alternate City Edition jersey this season, paying tribute the city’s civil rights legacy and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King.

Here is how the team performed with each uniform:

About the uniform: The white jersey — aka, “association” — took role of the traditional home uniform. It displays “Atlanta” across the chest in bright red and yellow-trimmed lettering (with a retro-style font, inspired by athletic fonts from the team’s uniforms from the late ’60s to early ’80s). The red and yellow-trimmed theme is continued in stripes along the sides. The Hawks’ primary icon logo is featured on the side of the uniform’s shorts.

About the uniform: The red jersey is also known as “icon,” and is the considered the primary road uniform. The colors of legacy yellow and torch red have been associated with the Hawks for more than three decades. Like the “association” jersey, the “icon” displays “Atlanta” across the chest in contrasting yellow-trimmed lettering with a retro-style font. The white and yellow-trimmed theme is carried along the side stripes.

About the uniform: The black jersey has a Jordan Brand logo on the left side, and according to NBA.com, the Jumpman logo will appear on every “Statement Edition” uniform starting with the 2020-21 season: “The Statement Edition uniform design sets the tone for big games or rivalries and make a bold statement every time they step on the court — a natural connection to Jordan Brand’s namesake and the legend’s approach to the game.”

About the uniform: King’s initials, “MLK,” are front and center on the jersey, marking the first time in league history the initials of an individual are featured prominently on the chest of an official uniform. The uniform’s base color is infinity black, with the initials “MLK” in fidelity white and outlined in vintage gold. Vintage gold and fidelity white also make up the piping around the edges of the jersey and the waistband of the shorts. The colorway of black, gold and white also represents King’s membership in the first Black Greek fraternity.
