The NBA revealed the All-Star game starters on TNT on Thursday night and Hawks guard Trae Young was not among them.
Young ranked fifth among guards in the Eastern Conference throughout the entire fan-voting period. He never accumulated enough votes to climb the ranks.
Fans account for 50% of the vote to determine the starters. Current NBA players and a media panel account for 25% each.
Young finished with 923,023 fan votes, 63 player votes and four media votes. He finished with a weighted score of 5.00 to finish fourth among guards in the Eastern Conference.
Several Hawks players received votes to make it into the rankings: guards Dyson Daniels (8 player votes, 63,345 fan votes) and Bogdan Bogdanovic (6 player votes, 30,489 fan votes), along with Jalen Johnson (16 player votes, 254,079 fan votes) and De’Andre Hunter (seven player votes, 82,533 fan votes).

Votes from the 30 NBA coaches will determine the All-Star reserves. Young could earn a spot.
This year’s NBA All-Star game will feature a mini-tournament with four teams and three games. Two teams will meet in one semifinal, and the remaining two teams will meet in the other semifinal.
The winning teams from the first two games will advance to face each other in the championship. For each game, the winner will be the first team to reach or surpass 40 points.
