ORLANDO, Fla. -- On the same day he picked up his fourth All-Star selection, Hawks guard Trae Young has added another honor. The NBA named Young as Eastern Conference Player of the Week Monday.

Young helped lead the Hawks to a 3-1 record in week 16 of the 2024-25 season (Feb. 3-9), averaging 31.3 points and 10.5 assists, while knocking down 48.2% of his field goals. The 26-year-old guard has led the league in assists all season.

With Young leading the charge, the Hawks have averaged an Eastern Conference-leading 29.2 assists per game. The team is on pace to have the most assists per game in a single season in franchise history (27.1 per game, St. Louis Hawks, 1960-61).

For the week, the four-time All-Star sat in the top five in the East in points per game (fifth, 31.3), assists per game (second, 10.5), made field goals per game (tied for fourth, 10.3) and made free throws per game (third, 7.3). He was the only Eastern Conference player to rank in the top 5 in all four categories.

This is the first time this season Young has won the award and the eighth time in his career.

He leads the NBA this season in point and assist double-doubles (31), as well as 30-point, 10-assist games (10). He tops the Eastern Conference in 20-point, 10-assist outings (22, second-most in the NBA). Young has 87 career games with 30-or-more points and 10-or-more assists, the fourth-most in league history.

Along with Young, Nuggets center Nikola Jokic earned the honor for the Western Conference Player of the Week.

Other nominees in the Eastern Conference included: Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, Pistons guard Cade Cunningham, Cavaliers guard Darius Garland, Celtics forward Jayson Tatum and Magic forward Franz Wagner.

Suns guard Devin Booker, Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lakers forward LeBron James, Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. and Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons were the other nominees from the Western Conference.
