The play of the day Wednesday at Falcons training camp came from inside linebacker Foye Oluokun.

In one-on-one drills, Oluokun was covering running back Qadree Ollison on the quarterback’s right. Ollison stutter-stepped to try and create separation, but Oluokun recovered.

“(Foye) has done a really nice job,” coach Arthur Smith said. “He had a very productive year last year. It’s early, but he’s taken over that role at middle linebacker.”

The receiver touched the ball first, but as he was trying to pull it in, Oluokun wrestled it from Ollison and rolled down on the ground with the ball to complete an interception.

Oluokun got up and was met with the rest of his defense celebrating him.

“We all have to celebrate those types of plays,” inside linebacker Deion Jones said. “That transfers to on the field in games.”

In his third season with the Falcons last season, Oluokun had three sacks, two interceptions and 77 solo tackles.
