Falcons wide receiver Drake London, the eighth overall pick in this year’s NFL draft, made a consecutive practice Wednesday for the first time since he was injured Aug. 12.
London was working on his footwork with the rest of the receivers and later with wide receivers coach T.J. Yates during the open media portion of practice. He had a sleeve on his left leg. London was injured against host Detroit in an exhibition game and had not practiced until Monday.
He was listed as limited Wednesday on the team’s first official injury report of the season.
Also, cornerback Darren Hall (quad) was limited, and tight end Parker Hesse did not practice because of a personal matter.
“We’re just going to have to keep seeing,” Falcons coach Arthur Smith said before practice. “He practiced Monday. We’ll see what it looks like the rest of the week, and then we have to make a decision on Saturday, if he’s playing or if he’s not, how much to put on his plate. We won’t know until the end of the week.”
The Falcons didn’t place London on injured reserve, so they are hopeful that he can play against the Saints on Sunday in the season opener.
