NEW ORLEANS -- Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan completed 23 of 30 passes for 343 yards and two touchdowns in the 27-25 win over the Saints.
He finished with a passer rating of 135.8, his highest this season. The win was his 41st game-winning drive and 33rd fourth-quarter comeback.
Here’s what he had to say after the game:
(On the 64-yard pass to Cordarrelle Patterson to set up the winning field goal): “It was a great play by CP. The call we had on had multiple options across the board. I saw that it was man-to-man coverage with an opportunity for him on the sideline. He ran a great route and made a really good catch. As he has done all year, he stepped up and made a big play for us.”
(On how big this win is): “They are all big. Regardless of who you go against in this league, it’s hard to win a game. It’s a tough place. I’ve played here a lot. You don’t know how difficult it is to play in this environment. It’s a hard-earned win.”
(On the team’s mindset once the Saints took the lead late in the game): “Let’s go win the game. Let’s find a way to get the job done. There was a minute and a few seconds and we had two timeouts. There was plenty of time to get a field goal and go win. We just need to figure out a way to get the job done.”
(On the long drive before the half) “We were on the 8. To do that before the half and finish it with a touchdown, was huge for us. You know with this (Saints) defense it’s going to be tough sledding and there are going to be negative plays. You have to create explosives and you have to convert first downs. I thought that we did a pretty good job of that.”
