LAS VEGAS – Here are three key matchups to watch when the Falcons (6-7) face the Raiders (2-11) at 8:30 p.m. Monday at Allegiant Stadium.
Falcons S Jessie Bates III vs. Raiders TE Brock Bowers: Bates is coming off one his worst games as a Falcon, where he was jumping zones and leaving the deep middle of the field open. He plans to rebound against Bowers, who is second in the league with 87 catches. The Raiders run their passing attack through the former three-time All-American who played at Georgia.
Falcons LB Kaden Elliss vs. Raiders RB Sincere McCormick: Elliss leads the Falcons with 112 tackles. He also has three sacks and 12 quarterback hits. The Falcons have held their last four opponents to 115 yards rushing or less. McCormick, a former Texas-San Antonio standout, has been waiting for his opportunity. He’s averaging 5.5 yards per carry, with 32 carries for 175 yards.
Falcons CB A.J. Terrell vs. Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers: Terrell continues to play at high level, especially in man-to-man coverage. His play has allowed the Falcons to blitz more. Meyers is a savvy route runner and has caught 66 of 96 targets for 743 yards and two touchdowns.
