Soroka allows eight runs in start for Stripers

It was a rough outing for Michael Soroka in a Triple-A start for the Gwinnett Stripers on Sunday.

The right-hander, recovering from multiple surgeries, allowed 10 hits and eight runs (seven earned) in three innings against the Buffalo Bisons at CoolRay Field. Soroka left trailing 8-1. He struck out one with no walks and two hit batters. The Stripers (10-16) lost 21-9.

Soroko’s ERA went from 1.32 to 4.85 after his fourth start. He has now pitched 16.2 innings and allowed 21 hits, 10 runs (nine earned) with one home run allowed and three hit batters. He has struck out 14 and walked four.

Braves closer Raisel Iglesias, out all season after experiencing shoulder inflammation in spring training, pitched a perfect fourth inning with one strikeout. He also pitched one perfect inning, with a strikeout, in his first rehab appearance on Friday.
