LOS ANGELES - Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies was feeling better Wednesday after exiting Tuesday’s game after fouling a ball off his left knee.

Albies remained on the ground for a few minutes after his knee was hit. He was carried off the field and appeared to be in serious pain. The x-rays were negative and Albies was ruled day to day, a great relief for the player and team.

Before the Braves’ finale at Dodger Stadium, manager Brian Snitker said Albies had been receiving treatment throughout the day and was feeling better. Snitker didn’t rule out Albies playing Thursday in Colorado.

“He’s better,” Snitker said. “A lot better today than we probably thought he’d be. We’ll see how he is tomorrow. Like I said, he’s a lot better today than I think everybody thought he was. They’ll treat him up during the game and they were treating him at the hotel before we got here (at Dodger Stadium. We’ll just wait and see how he is when we get (to Denver) tomorrow, see how he progressed over the evening and see where he’s at.”

Albies, 24, is hitting .259/.317/.483 with 23 homers and 86 RBIs. He was named an All-Star for the second time in July.
