Earlier last week, Ozzie Albies was scared he might miss extended time after fouling a ball of his left knee. By the beginning of the next week, he’d homered in three consecutive games.

The All-Star second baseman homered Sunday on the first career pitch from Rockies starter Ryan Feltner. It was Albies’ third blast in as many games since a two-game absence due to a sore knee. He homered in each of his three games at Coors Field, where the Braves split a four-game series with the Rockies.

Manager Brian Snitker called it a needed win. The standings would agree: The Phillies and Mets both won Sunday, meaning they each would’ve gained a game if the Braves lost. Instead, they led the Phillies by two games and the Mets by 3-1/2 games on their Monday off-day.
