He’s the first Eagles player to do it since Derrick Knight rushed for 1,721 in 2003. “That was one of my goals for the season,” Harris said. ... Linebacker Luke Kuechly has 101 tackles, most ever by a true freshman at B.C.

The Tigers scored at least 38 points for the fifth consecutive game and can clinch the division with a win. Coach Dabo Swinney credited his young offensive line, which has one senior and one junior. “They have become dominant,” Swinney said. “They have continued to get better and have made very few mistakes up front.” ... C.J. Spiller won ACC player of the week for the fourth time after becoming the first player in Clemson history to account for touchdowns passing, rushing and receiving in the same game. He has eight touchdowns of 50 yards or more.

Quarterback E.J. Manuel’s first career start went better than anyone could have expected: 15-of-20 for 220 yards, one touchdown and one interception. “He’s 6-4, 220 pounds and is a nice swift runner with a good arm and has the demeanor that you’re looking for in a quarterback,” coach Bobby Bowden said. ... The Seminoles, who conclude the regular season Nov. 28 at top-ranked Florida, need one more win to become bowl-eligible. They’ve beaten Maryland 17 of 19 times, but two of those losses have come in the past five years. ... Tailback Jermaine Thomas has three consecutive games of 100-plus yards rushing.

Out six weeks with a broken wrist, running back Da’Rel Scott might play Saturday, boosting the Terps’ pathetic ground game. Scott has a brace on his arm but “has full use of his hands,” coach Ralph Friedgen said. ... Quarterback Jamarr Robinson was ineffective as a passer in his first start, a 36-9 loss to Virginia Tech, but the sophomore ran for 129 yards. “His feet are his biggest asset, although I did think he made some plays with his arm,” Friedgen said. “I thought there were a few others he could have made, but overall I would say he did pretty well against a pretty good defense.” ... Maryland lost two more players to season-ending injuries: safety Kenny Tate and punter Travis Baltz.

The Wolfpack won’t play in a bowl for the second time in coach Tom O’Brien’s three seasons. And it’s unclear if quarterback Russell Wilson (26 touchdown passes), a potentially high draft pick in baseball, will be back. Promising freshman Mike Glennon completed 4 of 6 passes for 56 yards and a touchdown Saturday in the loss to Clemson. ... Jarvis Williams’ nine touchdown catches are the most by a Wolfpack receiver since Jerricho Cotchery’s 10 in 2003. ... N.C. State is 2-7-2 in Blacksburg.

On a five-game skid, Wake Forest won’t be going to a bowl for the first time since 2005. Still, the senior class can become the winningest class in school history by beating Duke in the season finale. “It’s crazy to think about it,” quarterback Riley Skinner said after the loss to Florida State. “It has been 4-1/2 years, and I never thought it would end like this.” ... The Demon Deacons are just 4-4 when they score 24 or more points. ... Safety Cyhl Quarles (Meadowcreek High) made his first career interception against Florida State, then took a vicious hit that dislodged his helmet. Quarles left with a concussion.

Sophomore quarterback Sean Renfree, who appeared in five games and completed 68 percent of his throws, tore his ACL against Georgia Tech. He had backed up Thaddeus Lewis ... The fading Blue Devils need seven wins to qualify for a bowl. ... Duke is 1-5 against Miami, the lone win coming in 1976. ... Will Snyderwine made 12 consecutive field goals until his 52-yard try was blocked last week.

Quarterback Jacory Harris is vowing to play despite hurting his throwing hand in the loss to North Carolina on Saturday. This week he wore a soft cast to immobilize a finger. Harris said his career-high four interceptions had nothing to do with the injury. “It wasn’t physical,” he said. “It was all my fault.” ... Leonard Hankerson (34 catches, 602 yards, 4 touchdowns) is the only Hurricane to catch a pass in every game. ... Miami is trying to finish over .500 in ACC play for the first time since 2005.
North Carolina (7-3, 3-3)

The Tar Heels are going bowling for the second consecutive year. They have not made consecutive bowl appearances since going to seven consecutive from 1992-98. … UNC has won both games against B.C. since the Eagles joined the ACC in 2005. ... Kendric Burney set an ACC record against Miami when he returned three interceptions for 170 yards, topping the old mark of 128 yards, which had stood for 29 years. In that one game, Burney also set a UNC record for interception-return yardage in a season. “This is the biggest game of my life,” he said.

The Cavaliers rank 118th in total offense (266.7 yards). Senior Jameel Sewell has completed only 53 percent of his throws, with seven interceptions and six touchdowns. ... Defensive end Nate Collins, corner Chris Cook, wideout Vic Hall and running back Rashawn Jackson are drawing attention from NFL scouts. … Virginia is 3-19-1 in Death Valley, its last win coming in 1997.

Ryan Williams can tie Philip Rivers' record of eight ACC rookie of the week awards if he wins it twice more.Williams has run for 1,235 yards and needs 31 more to set the Hokies’ freshman record. “When you tackle him, you can feel his thighs are big like tree trunks,” Maryland linebacker Alex Wujciak said after the Hokies’ 36-9 win Saturday. ... Virginia Tech is motivated by a chance at its sixth straight 10-win season. ... The Hokies are fifth nationally in pass defense (157.2 yards); that ranking will be tested by N.C. State’s Russell Wilson.
