Gun ownership is a right that comes with great responsibility; keeping our families safe means keeping our weapons securely stored. Yet, gun violence is now the leading cause of death for children. We must do more to create a culture of responsible gun ownership and save lives. Georgia can and should join our neighbors in North Carolina and Texas in enacting a child-access prevention law and funding a public health messaging campaign to encourage safe storage.
