Atlanta Lung Cancer Symposium

Attention nurse practitioners: This three-day session explores best practices and presents new research from dermatology, orthopedics, cardiology, emergency medicine, women’s health and other disciplines. It also includes information on the latest clinical guidelines for patient treatment, and covers new and emerging therapy options.

Pancreas Cancer Hybrid Conference
November 6, online and in-person at Georgia Tech Global Learning Center, 800 Spring St. NW, Atlanta
This event brings together top health care and science experts who treat pancreatic cancer and care for patients. It is structured so participants can attend in person or virtually. Information on increasing survival rates is aimed at nurse practitioners and nurses, along with a host of other oncology medical professionals — as well as patients and family members.
Highlights include a forum led by patients and caregivers, and a surgical robot that allows those who attend to practice their surgery skills.
Those who complete the session can earn three nursing contact hours. The registration fee for nurses is $25 ffor virtual and $50 for in-person; and free for students, patients and family members.

ANCC Nursing Continuing Professional Development Summit
Nov. 9-10, Georgia World Congress Center, 285 Andrew Young International Blvd NW, Atlanta
The American Nurses Credentialing Center will hold a preconference NCPD Summit in conjunction with its Pathway to Excellence and National Magnet Conference happening later that week.
Who should attend? The preconference event is geared to ANCC-accredited nurse planners, NPD practitioners, and nurses or students who lead or focus on continuing development.
It features real-time best practice presentations, research findings and education sessions, along with chances to network.
The NCPD Summit offers up to 11.4 CNE credits and without added events costs $499. Register here.
It’s also possible to secure a single virtual access package for both the ANCC National Magnet Conference and the ANCC Pathway to Excellence Conference, with a livestream Nov. 11-12 that includes sessions, speakers and the individual nurse awards. On-demand access extends through December 31, 2021, after the conference.
Attendees who complete concurrent and poster evaluations by the end of the year can obtain CNE credit.

Instructor Tammy Ryan, birth doula trainer for DONA International, shares ways to facilitate comfort in pregnancy and resolve labor stalls with Three Levels Solutions, along with identifying fresh solutions for labor pain and long labor.
