DeKalb County summer camps can help get your kids off the couch this summer, letting them explore Georgia's natural beauty, create art, play a sport or brush up on their academics.
These seven summer camps in DeKalb County are already taking registrations:
What's offered: Camps designed to foster a love of the environment and explore Georgia's natural beauty. Day camps include activities such as swimming at local lakes and swimming holes, with some providing field trips such as a caving expedition to Sitton's Cave at Cloudland Canyon.
When: The first camp starts June 5, and the last one gets underway July 17.
Where: 743 E. College Ave., Decatur.
Cost: Day camp costs $475 weekly, and overnight camp costs $690.
What's offered: Day camps for five weeks of the summer from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.. They include Camp Sycamore (for rising kindergarteners-3rd graders) and iDiscover Camp (for rising kindergartners through fifth graders). Enrichment camps are also held for one-week sessions for rising kindergartners through 5th graders, and these focus on a particular interest such as cooking or Legos. Special interest sports camps, as well as tennis and swim camps, are also held.
When: Camps start the week of June 5, with the last week starting July 24.
Where: Locations vary by camp and include the Decatur Recreation Center, Ebster Recreation Center, Glenlake Tennis Center and Oakhurst Elementary School.
Cost: Camps range from $55 to $230, depending on the camp. Discounts are available for Decatur residents.

What's offered: Music, drama, dance and visual arts camps including ones that focus on music recording, printmaking, digital photography and sculpting.
Where: Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, 980 Briarcliff Road NE, Atlanta
When: The first camp starts the week of June 5, and the last begins on July 31.
Cost: Ranges from $185-$285. Scholarships are available.
The Friends School of Atlanta camps,
What's offered: Several camps for ages ranging from 6-16, including ones that focus on digital arts and multi-media design, math, environmental science, and critters.
When: Camp dates vary, with the first starting the week of June 5 and the last one starting the week of July 24.
Where: The Friends School of Atlanta, 862 Columbia Drive, Decatur.
Cost: All camps cost $275 per week.

What's offered: Weekly camps in Robotics and Minecraft, with advanced versions of each topic also offered. A Minecraft and Sports camp is also available.
When: Camps are from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each weekday, with the first week offered the week of June 5 and the last week starting on July 24.
Where: Smoke Rise Baptist Church, 5901 Hugh Howell Road, Stone Mountain.
Cost: Camp costs $175 for the week. Some camps require that you bring a laptop or rent one for $35 a week.
What's offered: Middle- and high-school students learn about money-related topics including earning a paycheck, budgeting and needs vs. wants.
Where: Wealthy Habits, 1200 Ashford Parkway, Suite 155, Dunwoody and Emory University, 2425 Dooley Drive, Decatur. Camps are also held in other counties.
When: June and July
Cost: $160 per session, with full and partial scholarships available

What's offered: Arts camps for youth ages 5-13, with activities that vary weekly and include painting, cartooning, pottery, puppet making, creative dramatics, mask making and more.
Where: ART Station, 5384 Manor Drive, Stone Mountain.
When: Weekly camps are held from June 5-July 28.
Cost: Camps for ages 5-8 are $150 for members and $165 for non-members, and for ages 9-13, they cost $160 for members and $175 for non-members.
