After five years, Savannah’s The Grey Market has announced its closure.

“It’s a bittersweet day as we plan to say “goodbye” to The Grey Market this Sunday, July 16, after 5 years of serving Savannah and her visitors, while looking forward to tackling new and exciting opportunities in the dynamic, ever-changing world of food and restaurants,” read the Instagram post.

Part lunch counter where diners could grab breakfast and all-day items and part Southern-style bodega that sold high-quality items and premade dinners, the market was a spinoff of chef Mashama Bailey and managing partner Johno Morisano's award-winning restaurant The Grey.

In January 2022, Bailey and Morisano opened a Grey Market in Austin that will continue much of what was loved about Savannah’s market.
