"Savannah Salutes" Memorial Day Weekend Celebration: May 26-29, This patriotic four-day event will include a special Memorial Day presentation by the Veterans of Foreign Wars on the Montgomery Park Stage on May 29, 5 p.m., as well as free live music. Cleaning at Bonaventure: 9 a.m., May 27, Legion Section O at Bonaventure Cemetery, 330 Bonaventure Road, Thunderbolt, bonaventurehistorical.org

Vietnam Memorial: 6:30 p.m. May 28, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 671 host annual program honoring 106 fallen veterans from the Vietnam War of the Savannah area. Emmet Park, 4089 E. Bay St., Savannah, gosouthsavannah.com

Flags line the walkway under a wall containing the names of members of the Mighty 8th Airforce who died during WWII. 26,000 flags are being placed throughout the garden at the National Museum of the Mighty 8th Air Force for Memorial Day weekend.
