A pharmacy delivery truck collided with an 18-wheel semi early Friday, causing dozens of syringes and drug bottles to spill onto a Texas highway, KTRK reported.

The crash occurred near Cut and Shoot, a town located 40 miles north of Houston, the television station reported.

A bobtail truck, which was carrying the drugs for delivery, was heading east when it was rear-ended by the 18-wheeler, the Houston Chronicle reported. The impact scattered drugs and syringes across the road, the newspaper reported.

The driver of the bobtail truck injured his leg and was taken to a hospital, the Chronicle reported.

The wreck caused the highway to be shut down for several hours, KTRK reported.
