Forbes recently released its "American's Best Large Employers" report. To determine the list, the publication collaborated with market research company Statista to identify the 500 businesses liked best by employees.

The researchers surveyed 50,000 workers at large companies, nonprofit institutions, government agencies and U.S. divisions of multinationals with 5,000 or more employees. They asked the participants questions about the corporations’ atmosphere, pay and working conditions. They also asked how likely respondents would be to recommend their employer to a family or friend.

After analyzing the results, the team found Trader Joe’s, which is headquartered in Monrovia, California,  was the top large employer, followed by Southwest Airlines, which is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.

Several metro Atlanta companies made the cut, too. Southern Company placed in the top 20 at No. 14, and Emory University placed in the top 100 at No. 87.

Southwire (No. 114), Delta Air Lines (No. 155), Turner Broadcasting (No. 233) and Coca-Cola (No. 245) were also included on the list.
