Kanye West’s long-awaited gospel-inspired album, “Jesus Is King,” has finally arrived, and one of the tracks has the internet buzzing.
“Closed On Sunday,” the fourth song on the project, has a few references about Chick-fil-A, the beloved fast food chain based in Atlanta.
The Chicago-bred artist begins with “Closed on Sunday, you're my Chick-fil-A.” Towards the middle, he repeats the line but adds, “You're my number one, with the lemonade.” And by the end of the song, he abruptly shouts, “Chick-fil-A!”
Once people heard the song, they took to Twitter to post their reactions with gifs and memes, and “Kanye,” “Chick-fil-A” and “Closed On Sunday” quickly became trending topics Friday afternoon.
Many speculated over how Chick-fil-A employees would react.
Others admitted they hated the song and joked about the lyrics.
But several admitted they were fans of the song, calling West “the greatest to ever do it.”
Although Chick-fil-A has not responded to the song, the restaurant hasn’t been afraid to have some fun on social media. The company has previously sparred with Wendy’s, Burger King and Popeyes. So a response could be on the way.
