“Sesame Street” is a classic kids show known for its educational programs and friendly muppets. But some people believe one of the characters might have uttered a not-so-friendly word on a recent episode.

Reddit user u/schrodert took to the platform this week to share an audio clip of Grover seemingly dropping a curse word while chatting with Rosita.

"May have just found next 'Yanni or Laurel' soundbite thanks to my daughter's obsession with Elmo," the user wrote. "Listen once thinking Grover says 'Yes, yes, that's a [expletive] excellent idea' then again KNOWING he actually says 'Yes, yes, that sounds like an excellent idea.' I hear either based on what I'm thinking."

The post has garnered nearly 120,000 upvotes in just one day, and people are split. While some hear the clean version, others hear the dirty one.

“I can only hear [expletive] excellent idea,” one Reddit user said in the comments. Someone else wrote, “I have the worst mouth of anyone I know and I never heard [expletive].”

And some folks actually hear both phrases.

“I couldn't hear the non-swearing version until I was looking at the sentence in the title, and now I can't hear the swearing until I read THAT as I'm listening! Stupid confused brain...bah!” another user said.

“I can hear both, depending on what I choose to hear. Awesome!” someone echoed.

The clip also made its rounds on Twitter, where the debate continued.

In May, the world was torn by another viral audio clip that sounded like "Laurel" to some and "Yanny" for others.

At the time, linguist experts said people hear different things, because they listen to different frequencies.

"What one hears first depends on the how the sound is reproduced, e.g. on an iPhone speaker or headphones, and on an individual's own 'ear print' which might determine their sensitivity to different frequencies," Elliot Freeman, a perception researcher at City University of London, told the New York Times.

Could the same be true for the “Sesame Street” video? Take our poll below to let us know what you hear.
