In a recent interview with GQ, published earlier this month, the rapper talked about her "love for the government" and appreciation of former United States presidents, specifically Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Social Security Works tweeted a photo of the star alongside her quote, and Sanders retweeted it Wednesday. The former presidential candidate wrote, “Cardi B is right.”

“If we are really going to make America great,” he continued, “we need to strengthen Social Security so that seniors are able to retire with the dignity they deserve.”

Since he posted the image, it has been retweeted more than 13,000 times and liked more than 42,000 times.

About nine out of 10 American seniors ages 65 and up in receive Social Security benefits, which means about 63 million are expected to get it in 2018, according to the SSA.

However, the Social Security trust fund is projected to run out by 2034, possibly leaving millions of seniors without access to retirement benefits and politicians debating about how to strengthen the program.
