An Austrian cake decorator is coming under fire for his latest creation: a cake in the form of the World Trade Center with two planes crashing into them.
According to The Washington Post, Thomas Kienbauer made the cake to show his displeasure with politics in Austria, not to make light of the tragedy.
He told the paper that the towers represent the country's main political parties that have so much power that it is difficult to cause damage to them.
He said he understands the sensitivity of 9/11 and did not want to make light of it.
Many readers of Austria's Heute newspaper responded to the cake's design with negative comments, many saying it is disrespectful, some going as far as calling it inhuman, according to the Post.
Kienbauer stands by his creation telling The Post that it will stay at his bakery until "it looks shabby or until I have made a new one."
