A woman has been charged with felony murder after an armed robbery attempt over the summer spiraled out of control and left a man dead, according to Clayton County police.

In a Facebook post Saturday, police said Brittany Wiley confessed to setting up the armed robbery that resulted in the Aug. 30 shooting death of 36-year-old Loik Tyler.

One of the victim’s friends found Tyler in the 6300 block of Old Dixie Highway in Jonesboro and called 911, police said in the post. Officers determined he was dead at the scene.

Investigators said surveillance footage captured Tyler with a woman prior to his death. The woman was later determined to be Wiley, according to police.

“She was observed in the surveillance video prior to Mr. Tyler’s death and knocking at the door at the time he was killed,” officials said.
