While much of the U.S. began Christmas week with rain and snow, a dry and mild Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are on tap for most of America, according to the National Weather Service.
A moisture-rich low-pressure system is continuing to produce more rainfall across the Southeast on Monday, with heavy showers and thunderstorms drenching Florida on Monday morning. Lingering showers will persist Monday afternoon before drier conditions return Christmas Eve.
Further north, a risk for heavy rain remains for coastal South Carolina.
Out West, an upper-level trough continues to produce rain and mountain snow in the Southwest.

High temperatures in parts of the nation's midsection will soar into the 60s, while parts of the Southern Plains reach the 70s on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Temperatures will average 10 to 15 degrees above normal from the Great Plains to the Northeast through midweek.
