Those who hold “Reading Rainbow” near and dear can walk down memory lane this afternoon when the show’s seminal host reads live on Twitter on Monday and later this week.

Former “Star Trek” legend LeVar Burton will read to kids of all ages at noon ET on Twitter on Monday. He’s offering his oratory skills to bring a bit of nostalgia and celebrate literacy during the homebound time of COVID-19.

You can watch here. Burton is reading "Amazing Grace" by Mary Hoffman on Monday. He also is reading a book he co-wrote, "The Rhino Who Swallowed the Storm," which he said applies to the current perseverance needed during the pandemic.

“I believe there’s a little bit of rhino in every single one of us,” Burton, 63, said before reading the book Monday.

The actor and philanthropist will flex his read-aloud muscles on Twitter multiple times per week. The Twitter livestream of "LeVar Burton Reads” will occur at noon ET on Mondays, 6 p.m. ET on Wednesdays for teenagers and “For Adults” readings will take place at 9 p.m. ET Fridays.

On March 24, Burton teased his new series to his followers on Twitter.

“I’ve been busting my brain for about a week now trying to figure out how to do a live-streamed version of #LeVarBurtonReads,” he shared. “I figured that during this difficult time I could contribute by reading aloud to folks who could use some diversion for themselves and their families.”
