Far-right Georgia senator thrown to ground and arrested in state capitol
Georgia State Patrol officers and state capitol staff scuffled with state Sen. Colton Moore (R-Trenton) before arresting him as Moore tried to attend a joint session of the House and Senate to hear Gov. Brian Kemp deliver his annual State of the State speech. Moore was banned from entering the chamber in 2023 by House Speaker Jon Burns after he made "vile, disparaging and false comments” about the late House Speaker David Ralston, according to Burns. It is unclear what charges Moore will face.
